and the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) will present a
special seminar for dealers about compliance with provisions of the U.S.
Patriot Act.
“The Double Eagles exhibit by Monaco Financial will include the
finest known 1854 New Orleans Mint specimen, graded NGC AU-58 and
recovered two years ago from the 1865 shipwreck of the S.S. Republic off
the coast of Savannah, Georgia,” said Ronald J. Gillio, Expo General
Chairman. The display also features one of the handful of known 1861-S
Paquet Reverse specimens; and the finer of the two known 1861
Philadelphia Paquet $20 gold pieces.”
Visitors to the exhibit will have an opportunity to obtain a free
copy of the informative reference book, “An Insider’s Guide to
Collecting Type I Double Eagles,” by Adam Crum, Vice President of Monaco
Financial of Newport Beach, California.
Deisher, author of the "Making the Grade" column published monthly in
Coin Values magazine, will present educational programs about grading at
2:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24. Deisher’s
new book, MAKING THE GRADE: A Grading Guide to the Top 25 Most Widely

public debut at the September Long Beach Expo.
Coin Values magazine is published monthly as a supplement to Coin
World, the world's largest and most widely circulated news weekly in the
coin hobby. An expanded version of Coin Values is available monthly on
newsstands and in bookstores nationwide.
The new book incorporates the full color photos that have provided a
wide range of grades for the most popularly collected series and also
presents new information. Since its launch in December 2003, Coin Values
has become the most widely distributed and most widely read monthly coin
magazine published in the United States.
The ICTA dealer seminar will be conducted on Wednesday, September 21,
from Noon to 1:30 p.m., prior to dealer set-up. The speaker, retired
Internal Revenue Service investigator, Ray Gregson, will explain how to
comply with new federal rules involving precious metals, jewelry and
cash. Additional information about the seminar and admission fee is
available at www.ICTAonline.org.
A dozen other educational seminars will be presented free during the
Long Beach Expo by well-known hobby experts, and a representative of
eBay will conduct two programs about buying and selling collectibles
online, Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24.
“Three major grading services will provide on-site grading and
encapsulation during the show: Professional Coin Grading Service,
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation and ANACS. A gold coin door prize will
awarded each day by the Long Beach Expo, and the extremely popular Kid’s
Treasure Hunt will be conducted on Saturday,” said Gillio.
