By Q. David Bowers and Douglas Winter

Back to the Coin News Index

The first volume in the American Numismatic Rarities Pedigree Book Series, will be a comprehensive encyclopedia of Three Dollar Gold Pieces. This definitive study will be the most important and comprehensive reference work ever written on the series.

Numerous collectors and investors have been drawn to this series by its enigmatic history and low original mintage figures. Despite their scarcity these coins are surprisingly affordable today. The purpose of this book is to better inform your purchasing decisions and enhance the collectability of this series.

Special pre-publication price, if ordered now, is just $49.95, a savings of $10 from the list price of $59.95. Postage and handling of $5 will be added. And, each pre-publication order comes with a special commemorative bookplate personally autographed by Q. David Bowers, Doug Winter and Richard Jewell. Jewell has assembled a superb collection of three dollar gold pieces which serves as the plate coins in this work.

This volume, 8½ by 11 inches in size, color-illustrated throughout, hardbound, 176 pages, and on fine paper, is anticipated to be ready for delivery early March. It is a highly readable work, full of rich numismatic and historical background.
