$3.7 Million Bowers and Merena Baltimore Auction

(Irvine, California) – The official auction of the summer Baltimore
Coin and Currency Convention, conducted July 13 and 14, 2006 by Bowers
and Merena Auctions of Irvine, California, produced more than $3.7
million in winning bids.
A 1926-S Buffalo nickel, graded PCGS MS-65, brought $116,150, and a
1930-S Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, PCGS MS-65, sold for $201,250.
“Anchored by the Anne Kate Collection of Buffalo Nickels, the prices
realized were well above the pre-sale estimates, and we were extremely
pleased,” said Steve Deeds, President of Bowers and Merena. “We’ve
received numerous phone calls and emails from consignors who were
thrilled with the results of this successful sale.
