Washington, D.C. – Mint Director Philip N. Diehl today announced the selection of Ms. Jackie Fletcher as U.S. Mint Associate Director & Chief Information Officer (CIO).
“State-of-the-art information technology is critical to the success of our strategic plan and plays a major part in driving our success and profitability,” said Diehl. “Ms. Fletcher has been instrumental in the success of our key technology investment initiatives at the Mint, including implementation of new Office Automation Tools; upgraded networks and personal computers; data center consolidation; Inter- and Intranet access; and the three-tier systems architecture of our new enterprise resource planning system.”
Ms. Fletcher started her career at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in 1970, working in various fields from her first job as a stenographer to data processing and finally in leading their office automation division. In 1988 she joined Treasury’s Bureau of the Public Debt, where she created and managed the Office Automation Branch, and implemented various programs for end user computing and data systems integration and management. After two years she was promoted to Deputy Director for the Office of Management Services where she provided leadership and direction on programs including office automation & management; telecommunications services; management analysis; printing and graphics; health and safety; and space management.
In 1992, Ms. Fletcher moved to the Department of Justice as the Assistant Director for the Systems Management Service, where she directed automated requirements and systems development, and network, security, maintenance and user support services for the Office of Attorney General Reno.
Ms. Fletcher joined the Mint in 1995 as Assistant Director for Automated Information Systems. She is married and has two children, a son who is a senior at Morehouse College and a daughter who is in her first year at the University of Maryland.
